A list of certain companies share prices, which can be compared on a day to day basis, i.e. showing whether prices have risen or fallen.

An index showing the changes in the average prices of shares or a group of shares on the stock market.

An index number based on the prices of a parcel of representative shares. Among the better known share indices are the German DAX® , the FAZ Index (index of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), the MSCI, the Dow Jones (USA), the Nikkei Index (Japan) and the Financial Times Ordinary Share Index (FTSE).

The Market Share % of a station against a Target Market indexed against the All Adult Weekly Reach % for that station. This indicates whether a Target Market is more or less likely to listen to a given station for more or less time, with 100 being the norm.
